▪ The significant editorial and technical changes in the
new edition

Background
▪ EN 71-1:2026 was published in January 2026.The new
standard is expected to replace the current version EN
71-1:2014+A1:2018 by July 2026, and conflicting
national standards must be withdrawn by July 2027 at
the latest.
▪ However, the exact date will depend on the publication
date in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ)
and the execution period (i.e. the validity period of the
old version).
